What is Halloween Knife Hit?

Halloween Knife Hit is a one-tap precision game that runs in the browser. A wooden board spins in the middle of a haunted night scene, and the player taps to throw a knife at the bottom of it. Every knife that lands sticks in the board and turns with it.

That's the catch. Each stuck knife becomes an obstacle for the next throw, so the player has to find a gap. Hit a stuck knife and you lose one of your three lives. Land the number of knives the board asks for and it shatters into wedges, confetti flies and a fresh board pops in.

Skull bombs and treats ride the rim of the board. A knife that touches a skull bomb ends the run on the spot. Candy, candy corn and golden pumpkins are bonus points for players who grab them as the knife flies past.

It's built for a portrait phone screen. On a computer, the game sits in the middle with Halloween art on either side, including a moon, bats, a ghost, pumpkins and gravestones.

How points work

  • Knife sticks in the board+10
  • Board broken+50
  • Perfect board with no knife collision, on top of the +50+25
  • Candy or candy corn on the rim+20
  • Golden pumpkin on the rim+50

Touch a skull bomb and the run ends. The score so far is kept.

Why a branded knife-throwing game works at events

The rules take one tap to learn, and every board asks for a little more precision than the last.

One tap, one decision

Tap anywhere on the game screen to throw. The only thing a player has to judge is when, so there's little to explain at a busy booth.

Every landed knife changes the board

A knife that sticks turns with the board and blocks the next throw. The closer a player gets to breaking the board, the tighter the gaps get.

Risk and reward on the rim

Candy and candy corn are worth +20 and a golden pumpkin +50. They ride the same spinning rim as the skull bombs, which end the run on contact.

Difficulty that keeps climbing

Level 1 asks for five knives with one bomb on the board. By level 9 a board needs seven knives, with three bombs and two knives already stuck in it. Boards also wobble, change speed or reverse, with an arrow warning before a speed change or reversal.

How to play in three steps

  1. Tap to throw a knife

Tap anywhere on the game area. On a computer, click, or press Space or Enter. One knife is in the air at a time.

  2. Dodge knives and bombs

Time the throw so the knife lands in a gap. Hit a stuck knife and you lose a life. Hit a skull bomb and the run ends.

  3. Break the board and go again

Land the knives the board asks for and it shatters. A new board pops in, and your score and lives carry over.

Specs at a glance

What you get with the branded knife-throwing game.

Controls
Tap anywhere on the game area. On a computer, click, or press Space or Enter. Only one knife can be in the air at a time.
Where it runs
Phone and desktop browsers, nothing to install. The game is portrait only, and on a computer it sits in the middle with Halloween art on either side.
Lives
Three. Hitting a stuck knife costs one. Hitting a skull bomb ends the run at once, whatever lives are left.
Run length
Endless. Each board is one level and there is no timer. A run ends on a skull bomb or when the lives are gone.
Difficulty
Level 1 needs 5 knives and has one bomb. Spin speed keeps rising until about level 38, then holds. Bombs top out at 3 and knives per board at 9.
Scoring
+10 for each knife landed, +50 for a broken board, +25 more for a board with no collision, +20 for candy and +50 for a golden pumpkin.
Boards
Six wooden boards in rotation: jack-o'-lantern, skull, spider web, bat, crescent moon and ghost.
Best score
Saved on the device it was played on. This build has no leaderboard and no sign-up form.
Sound
Spooky, cartoony music and effects made in the browser, so there are no sound files to load. The music speeds up from level 6. One button turns music and effects off together, and the choice is remembered.
Pause
The game pauses by itself if the tab is hidden or minimized, and players tap to continue.

Where a branded knife-throwing game fits best

A one-tap throw and a Halloween look make it a fit for a few specific situations.

  • Halloween trade show booths

Anyone walking past can pick it up with one tap. A run ends on a skull bomb or when the three lives are gone, so the next visitor gets a turn.

  • Halloween parties and in-store events

It runs on a phone or a counter screen, and there are no rules to read first. Browse more promotional games for your event.

  • Seasonal marketing campaigns

It opens in a phone or desktop browser, so players can start right away. This build has no sign-up form, so if you need entries collected, see our event lead generation games or ask in your quote request.

Halloween Knife Hit: your questions answered

How does a player lose?

A run ends in one of two ways. Touching a skull bomb on the board rim ends it at once, whatever lives are left. Otherwise players have three lives, and each knife that hits a knife already stuck in the board costs one. The score so far is kept when the run ends.

Does it have a timer, a leaderboard or a sign-up form?

There is no timer. A run is an endless series of boards that ends on a skull bomb or when the three lives are gone. This build has no leaderboard and no player form, and the best score is saved on the device it was played on. If your campaign needs entries collected, say so in your quote request and we'll confirm what's possible.

How hard does it get?

Level 1 asks for five knives, with one bomb on the board and no knives already stuck in it. Each board after that is harder: the spin speeds up, boards ask for more knives (up to nine), and from level 2 or 3 some start with knives already stuck in them. Bombs top out at three. Some boards wobble, change speed or reverse, with an arrow warning before a speed change or reversal. Spin speed keeps tightening until about level 38, then holds. In testing with a perfect-throw bot, every level up to 30 and beyond could be cleared.

Can we change the difficulty and scoring for our event?

Lives, points, spin speed, knives per board, bomb count and the difficulty curve are all settings in the game, so they can be adjusted. Tell us about your crowd and how long each player should stay at the screen when you request a quote, and we'll confirm what can change.
